It is with regret we announce the passing of Past Chief Andrew K DeGraw. “Andy” entered into rest unexpectantly on the morning of Sunday, May 10th, 2026. He started his service as a trumpet player in the Cronomer Valley Marching Band back in the early 1970’s. His firefighting career started in 2001 and he made his way up the ranks to Fire Chief from 2012 through 2014. He worked for Amthors Welding in Gardner, NY and was a Past President of Orange Co. Fire Chief’s Association. Our condolences to the extended family of Andy DeGraw and all those who were friends and worked with him over the years. He was known as a gentleman and dedicated to the fire service. May he rest in peace.

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, May 17, 2026 at the Cronomer Valley Fire Department, 296 Rt. 32 (N. Plank Road), Newburgh, NY 12550 from 2 pm-6 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, May 18, 2026 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 145 Benkard Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5468 Rt. 9W, Newburgh, NY 12550.
