Cronomer Valley Fire Department

The Cronomer Valley Fire Dept., Inc. is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation with a membership of community members who provide emergency response and assistance to the Cronomer Valley Fire District, an 11-square-mile area within the Town of Newburgh, Orange County, NY.

Who Is CVFD?

Cronomer Valley Fire Department is a membership of approximately 55 active duty responders, 10 social members and 25 auxiliary. Our active members are firefighters, apparatus operators and fire police who have fire service training and actively respond to calls. Our social members help run fundraisers, run the kitchen at events, and participate in the business end of running the corporation. Our auxiliary runs fundraisers, provide logistical support at incidents and events, and supports community programs of interest.

The members also attend conferences and meetings with other fire departments to lobby for the fire service, and attend parades at local, county and state levels. Special committees are formed with other departments for emergency planning, training, and family oriented activities and events.

Cronomer Valley Fire Department strives to provide above standard leadership, professional and current fire response techniques, and emergency assistance to our residents and mutual aid partners when called upon.

Mission

The Cronomer Valley Fire Department strives to keep up with the vision of the Fire Department by recruiting and training a diverse membership capable of carrying out the duties and responsibilities carried out within the Department. Our goal is to deliver the best possible services within our financial means to mitigate emergencies in a safe manner. Fire Protection and Emergency Management principals will remain our focus in planning, response, mitigation and prevention of emergencies. Our values of Integrity, Honor, Honesty, Commitment and Loyalty are cornerstones of building our membership and teamwork within the organization.
