
In Memory of Henry Kaiser
The Cronomer Valley Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of Firefighter Henry “Hank” Kaiser after 64 years of service with the Department. Hank turned 90 years old in December. He passed away at home with his family at his side.
Henry was a retired finance administrator for IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a 64 year member of the Cronomer Valley Fire Department, “ Known as the Voice of the Valley”, life member of Orange County Volunteer Firemen’s Association, member of Hudson Valley Firemen’s Assoc. and The Royal Order of the Red Vests, longtime member Christ Lutheran Church and the Newburgh Yacht Club. Hank also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was an avid skier. Henry served in the US Army from 1953 – 1955.
Henry is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia Keilbach Kaiser at home, children; Karen Kaiser Sharp and husband, Chris Bauer of New Windsor, Paul Kaiser and wife Andrea of Boise, Idaho, cherished grandchildren; Madison Bauer and Alexandra Kaiser.
Henry joined the Department in 1960 and served as Lieutenant and Director throughout the years. He enjoyed firefighting and the social side of the department participating as drill master and serving on many committees. He was known to be a true gentleman and liked by all. When he could no longer participate in firefighting, he responded to the station to man the radio as a dispatcher. Hank had an unmistakable voice and was dubbed the “Voice of the Valley”. One year he was awarded “Fireman of the Year” for his amount of dedication and involvement with the department in all activities.
Henry will truly be missed by all. Visitation and services are arranged by White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral Services for Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th, 2024 at Cronomer Valley Fire Dept Social Hall and Cedar Hill Cemetery.
