Town of Newburgh is part of a no-open burning area due to population over 30,000 people. In addition there is a Burn Ban for the entire state from March 16th through May 14th, 2026 to prevent brush and forest fires. This time of year the dry and dead vegetation is susceptible to ignition and fast spreading fires that become out of control. We ask that everyone follow this burn ban no matter where you live to cut down on dangerous fires and tasking our volunteers to extinguish these fires.
